Today we’re excited to announce a new update to Blitz Wallet that brings significant improvements to your user experience. At Blitz Wallet, our mission is to be the simplest wallet ever, and this feature reflects our ongoing commitment to just that.

TLDR on Bliz Bitcoin gifts

Blitz Gifts let you Gift Bitcoin to any Blitz user through a simple link or QR code, no wallet knowledge required. You choose an amount, optionally add a note, and share the gift — the recipient just taps “Accept” and the sats appear in their balance. It’s a frictionless way to introduce someone to Bitcoin without overwhelming them with setup steps. Fast, lightweight, and friendly, it’s ideal for onboarding new Bitcoiners. And fully non-custodial.

How to create your first Blitz Bitcoin gift

1. Start on the Gifts tab

At the bottom of the app you’ll find the tab bar. Tap the gift icon to open the new Bitcoin Gifts section. This screen shows all active, claimed, and previously created gifts. If you haven’t made any yet, you’ll see a clean slate with a prompt to create your first one. Tap Create Gift to begin.

2. Enter your gift details

You’ll land on a simple form that lets you choose how much Bitcoin you want to include. The amount is required, but you can also add a short message or description if you want the gift to feel more personal. Once everything looks good, tap Create Gift.

3. Review and share your gift

After the gift is created, you’re taken to a confirmation screen. This page includes everything you need to send your sats to someone else:

• A QR code another Blitz user can scan
• The amount and description you entered
• A unique claim link — this is what the recipient uses to receive the Bitcoin
• Options to share the link directly, create another gift, or exit back to the main screen

From here you can send the link to a friend, family member, or someone who’s brand new to Bitcoin.

4. Claiming a gift

Once the recipient opens the link, Blitz automatically routes them to the Accept Gift screen showing the amount they’ll receive.

They can also manually paste the gift link into the Claim tab if that’s easier. With one tap, the sats are added to their balance.

5. Handling expired gifts

If a gift isn’t claimed before its expiration time, it doesn’t disappear.

Instead, it moves to the Expired tab. When you visit that screen, you’ll see any unclaimed gifts ready to be recovered. Tap the reclaim button and the sats return to your balance instantly.

Bitcoin gifting is now simple, quick, and intuitive — perfect for onboarding someone new or sending a fun surprise to another Blitz user.
